How Often Should I Check the OIl in My Nissan?

We know that life can get in the way once in awhile, so we recommend that you pick out a certain day on your calendar, such as the 15th of every month and make that your special Nissan maintenance date!
How Do I Check My Oil?
Checking your oil is extremely easy once you pop open the hood! Find the oil dipstick, pull it out, and wipe it clean with an old rag or paper towel. Insert the dipstick back in its place, and pull it out again. You will be able to read the oil’s level, which should be between the dots labelled Full (F) and Low (L). If the dipstick is streaky and hard to decipher, there is a good chance that your oil level is low, and you should add some more.
How Often Should I Change My Oil?
We recommend that you get your oil changed every three months or 3,000 miles. If your oil has gone from an amber color to a dark brown or black, that is also a really good indication that your oil needs to be changed.
